I hate buying presents for people for the holidays. No, I’m not a selfish scrooge; I actually am a very generous person and I like the holidays. It’s just that…for one thing, I’m a writer, which means that each and every one of my pennies count, so I refuse to spend my cash on a gift that will end up shoved way back in somebody’s closet. And for another thing, I put a lot of pressure on myself to buy gifts for the people I love that will show them that I really put thought and love into choosing that perfect item just for them.
