1. Social Safeway
Ladies, with your busy schedules we know it is very convenient to order your groceries on online; but why not spend that 45 minutes at the “Social Safeway” in Georgetown. The “Social Safeway”, as it is affectionately called by Washingtonians, is full of single well-groomed men all contemplating that crucial decision: Frosted Flakes or Fruit Loops!? Linger around the beef and poultry sections. Men in DC are always looking to find an excuse to have a barbeque and show off their grilling skills! Maybe you’ll get an invite. 30 St and K St N.W.
2. Mate Lounge
Pay a visit to Mate Lounge in Georgetown or try any one of Mauricio Fraga’s five lounges. The atmosphere is chic, but relaxing. Go during the week when it isn’t too packed and it is fairly easy to find a table. Scout out the scene before requesting a table. Their fabulous staff tries to accommodate your table preferences.
3. Café Milano
3251 Prospect Street NW
Dine among celebrities, politicians, and Washington’s own jet-setter elite. If you are looking for an older single man, this is the place to be. Take a seat at the bar with your girlfriends and within five minutes at least one George Clooney look a like will be offering you a drink.
4. Capital Alumni Network
Miss those college weekends playing football with the hotties on the quads? Look into joining the Capital Alumni Network. Every year CAN sponsors a Softball League and Tournament in Spring and Summer, Flag Football League and Tournament in Fall, and Basketball and Volleyball Leagues and Tournaments in Winter. The fun doesn’t end after the game. Most nights continue at the Bottom Line or The Exchange, both conveniently located near the National Mall. If throwing a football doesn’t interest you, get involved with their philanthropic activities which include a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction benefiting a local charity. A great way to meet fellow male alumni from your university and the other 220 universities in the network.
5. The Georgetown Waterfront
Located along the Potomac river in Georgetown, the waterfront restaurants and bars are a great place to find men cheering on their favorite sports teams on TV or to check out the shirtless hotties who dock their boats here for a few drinks. Remember to wear your cutest nautical outfit (it’s so in this year!) 30 St and K St N.W.
6. Ballroom Dance Company
You would be surprised how many single men take dance lessons, but pick the Latin dances over the waltz ladies. Salsa, meringue, rumba, cha-cha all very hot. Men are learning these moves to impress the ladies. Take a class with BDC. They have classes and dances all across the DC metropolitan area. The men here are very genuine, interested in you and not just your swiveling hips!
7. DC Improv
We know you hated how the Ex spent hours drinking beer and watching Comedy Central. But let’s face it, going to a comedy club is as close as a single man and his buddies get to a cultural event. Men flock to the DC Improv and in groups! Check it out with some girlfriends. No worries; there will be plenty of men to go around. 1140 Connecticut Ave., N.W.
8. Washington Sports Club
The best time to go is during lunch. There are many clubs in the city and they are conveniently located near downtown office buildings and residential areas. Lots of professionals try to squeeze in a quick workout during lunch and after work. And just think you get to see the goods before you get anywhere near the bedroom!
