I love the Phyto hair care line. I really do; it’s a line of hair care products for us gals who are serious about our hair. And, I am all about “treatments.” I really think the best way to make sure you look your best is to take time out each week to give your hair, skin, nails, mind, spirit, etc…a few minutes of special attention. When it comes to hair, using a daily, fabulous shampoo and conditioner is not enough, you also have to find a leave-on, once-a-week treatment that is right for you. For years I have been on the market for the perfect treatment, and I have totally found it in Phyto’s “Phytocitrus: Restructuring Mask.” Now, it is for color-treated hair, but nearly every gal I know fits that criteria. You leave it on towel-dried hair for just two to five minutes, rinse, and voila, your hair looks just like it looks the day you go to the salon. It’s only $38, and it comes in a big ole tub that lasts forever-it literally lasts me a year! It’s one of those products I will never again go without! You can get in online here at www.Sephora.com

I hate buying presents for people for the holidays. No, I’m not a selfish scrooge; I actually am a very generous person and I like the holidays. It’s just that…for one thing, I’m a writer, which means that each and every one of my pennies count, so I refuse to spend my cash on a gift that will end up shoved way back in somebody’s closet. And for another thing, I put a lot of pressure on myself to buy gifts for the people I love that will show them that I really put thought and love into choosing that perfect item just for them. So, for the past few weeks I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and researching to come up with a list of items that are guaranteed to show the recipients that they are loved and cherished and most importantly will be put to USE. For the next couple of weeks all of my posts will be from my list of “Fab Holiday Gift Ideas.” Here goes…

Cool, Hip and Fun (Personalized) Notecards
You can’t go wrong with this gift. One of the things I go through the most in life are note cards. I go through them like Kleenex. And I take great care in picking out my batches of note cards because it’s important to me that they reflect my personality. While I was looking to refill my note card stash, I ran across

I am no longer a slave to the trends; covering fashion has freed me from bondage. In the past, each season, I would scramble to catch my wardrobe up to the latest trends. Doing this inevitably meant ditching certain pieces and running around town searching for the newest this and the hottest that. It wasn’t until I started covering fashion as a journalist that I was led to the realization that trends are meant to INSPIRE not enslave. And, I now understand that if I do fall hard for a trend, it doesn’t have to be a brief romance. With a little fashion sense, I can have a long-term relationship with a once trendy piece. My new attitude toward fashion trends has allowed me to look forward to the changing seasons as opposed to feeling anxious and stressed about them. The trend that has inspired me the most this season is the trench coat, and I fully intend to integrate my new passion for fun, colorful trench coats into my wardrobe for the long haul. Check out my first, but not last, trench coat purchase—it’s from Bebe; it was super-affordable and makes me feel instantly fabulous! What fall trend do you intend to have a long-term relationship with?
